Area cleared and leveled next to driveway ready for the customer to install grids filled with stone allowing extra parking and turning, the grids are fantastic at retaining the natural drainage of the previous grass.
A raised bed was shaped to add some planting.
A narrow entrance driveway was widened with a strip of charcoal block paving to make it easier to park two cars side by side and still open the doors!
A privacy trellis was erected to help keep the garden a little more private.
Large Marnull quarry stone installed on the corner of a property that suffers verge damage from vehicles turning at the bottom of a lane, believe me they dont want to hit that!
Drainage works installed to prevent the storm water cascading into the paddock entrance causing access problems, a raised layer of tarmac plannings was spread outside the gateway to keep the storm water moving down the road to enter a ditch as an extra measure.
The existing lawn area was stripped back to soil due to poor growth under the tree line, a sleeper retainer wall was built to create a raised bed with the necessary lining to protect any timber, a small patio was laid with a contrasting sleeper edge, went back to this job to membrane and spread a Staffordshire pink stone replacing the grass area ( pics to follow)
With the property being on hillside, the natural water run off comes from the grounds of the higher property next door causing a major issue with the customers existing patio.
An existing sleeper wall was removed (rotted out) and replaced with steel uprights and new sleepers, extensive drainage work was done to stop a repeat process, the opportunity was there to extend the patio size, the new slabs will eventually weather in being of the same type.
Such an improvement!
The property is a new build some 18 months ago and of course the developer only landscape to a basic functional layout….this didn’t suit an existing customer of mine at all when the property was purchased, so a complete makeover was instrumented front and back, the customer had a clear vision of what they wanted and a local landscape designer came up with a plan to which i carried out with a few tweeks to suit,, Final look was quite amazing giving the limited space.
Old crazy paving path ripped out and replaced with a charcoal riven slab, the existing patio was lifted and correctly relaid.
Remove old brick pillars and existing driveway gate, widen by 2ft and move forward with refreshed entrance and new twin hardwood gates
